In the early 70's, Buffalo Boats originated and was a builder of commercial salmon and crab boats.

The main emphasis was to make a fast, great-looking boat without sacrificing stability, safety, and durability. These boats worked in areas from San Fransisco Bay to Bristol Bay, Alaska. All of the boats, constructed from Buffalo Boat molds, are still active in the fishing industry.

The structural and aesthetic quality of the commercial boats has been transferred to both the FIRST LIGHT 26'/32'. The fiberglass schedule as well as all bulkheads, windows, doors, rails, cleats, and fasteners are of commercial specifications.
